How We Review Stairlifts
This page explains what we do, and just as importantly what we do not do. If a comparison site will not tell you the second part, the first part is not worth much.
What we do not do
We do not ride stairlifts, so we cannot tell you how a seat feels, how smooth a ride is or how quietly a motor runs. We do not score models out of ten, because a score implies a measurement we have not taken. We do not collect, verify or average owner reviews, and we do not reprint anyone else’s rating. We are not owned by a stairlift manufacturer or supplier.
What a Shortlist Entry Is Built From
Every claim we make about a model comes from one of four places, and each one is checkable.

Why We Link to Reviews Instead of Printing a Score
Ratings move. A rating copied into a table is a photograph of a single day, and it goes on looking authoritative long after it has stopped being accurate. Linking costs you a click, and costs us the chance to look more thorough than we are, but it is the only version that stays true between visits.
What “Best Overall” Means Here
It means the model earned its place for reasons we can point at: what its specifications say, how much of its pricing is public, and how large a customer-review record sits behind the brand. Where two models are close, we say so, rather than separating them with a decimal point we invented.
Editorial Independence and Corrections
Our editorial decisions are independent of our commercial arrangements, and any affiliate relationships are disclosed in our disclaimer. Price tables carry a “last verified” date and are re-checked against the UK Stairlift Price Tracker. If you find a figure that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it and say that we have.
If You Own a Stairlift
What sellers actually quote is the hardest thing to find out, because almost nobody publishes it. If you have been quoted recently, or you have owned a lift long enough to know what it costs to keep, tell us. Quotes readers send in are held separately from published prices and are never mixed into the price tables.
