Get a Stairlift Quote

By submitting this form, your details will be shared with up to three stairlift suppliers from our partner network, who will contact you with a quote. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing contact@stairliftcosts.co.uk.

Smiling senior couple in a modern home, with the woman seated on a stairlift at the bottom of a carpeted staircase and the man standing beside her.

What happens after you request quotes

  1. Tell us about your stairs (straight or curved, roughly how many steps). It takes under a minute.
  2. We match you with up to 3 vetted UK installers who cover your postcode.
  3. They contact you with prices. No obligation, and you can say no to all of them.

Before the quotes arrive, sanity-check them against our 2026 Stairlift Pricing Index: straight lifts typically cost £2,000 to £3,500 fitted and curved lifts £3,500 to £10,000.

Why compare at least three quotes?

Prices for the same staircase vary by hundreds of pounds between installers. Getting three quotes is the single most effective way to avoid overpaying, and it removes the pressure of dealing with one salesperson. If anyone pushes for a same-day decision, read our guide on avoiding pushy stairlift sales tactics first.

What a good quote should include

  • The stairlift model, and whether it is new or reconditioned
  • Supply and installation, itemised
  • Warranty length and what it covers
  • First-year servicing, and the annual cost after that
  • VAT treatment: if the user has a chronic condition or disability, the quote should show 0% VAT

Could you pay less, or nothing at all?

Before you commit, check two things. First, VAT exemption saves 20% immediately for eligible users. Second, the means-tested Disabled Facilities Grant can cover some or all of the cost, up to £30,000 in England. A quote is still useful for the grant application, so requesting one now costs you nothing either way.

Frequently asked questions

Is the quote really free?

Yes. Quotes are free and no-obligation. If you go on to buy from a partner supplier we may receive a commission, at no cost to you. Read how we make money.

How quickly can a stairlift be installed?

A straight stairlift can often be fitted within a week of the survey, in 2 to 4 hours. Curved lifts take longer because the rail is custom-made. See our installation guide.
